TREASURE IN MIND

Trust their life experience,

And honor the lessons they’ve learned

When they openly share these with you.

Prove that you care more

For their feelings

And respecting their virtues,

Than you do about “being right.”

That you are more invested in

Your collective growth

Than you are disappointed in

Their shortcomings.

Realize that character flaws

Are Universal, however they may manifest. Often requiring only basic empathy and patience. Learning history and modes of comfort.

You are not without your problems

But one who is worth your time

Will want to see you overcome.

If somebody will think twice

About their anger or their need

In an effort to offer you peace,

That is a treasure.
