CLOVER

I’d decided that

I liked her

And I wanted to show her.

So I called up a shop

And proudly bought

A pound of red roses.

But by the time

The Delivery Kid arrived,

Our moment was over…

But that was my mistake,

For placing faith

In a call-in order…

When what I really should have done

Is step out and have my fun,

Stop chasing, stop stressing something

So unimportant…

And just keep an eye open,

In case I happened to cross

A four-leaf clover.
