Endless Wonder

You did not look

Into the window

Because you feared

What you hoped to see;

That endless wonder

In any frivolous form

Should be waiting, behind closed doors

With their modern locks,

Behind eyes twisted tighter still.

Your tired legs, upon the millionth mile

Forbade you to fantasize…

For the comforts you know

Are forever obscured to you.
