What Makes A Person?

What makes you a person?

Eating, drinking, shitting?

Growing, breathing?

The size of their brain?

The size of their heart, or body?

What really makes a person?

The language they speak?

The ability to think and remember?

What makes a person?

How similar they look to you?

How their face is shaped?

Their number of legs?

What really makes a person?

The desire to receive affection?

The ability to reciprocate that affection?

The tendency to grieve a death, or feel homesick?

Caring for your children, going without so they don’t have to?

What really makes a person?

The ability to feel pain, or miss another person?

The ability to forge bonds and families?

How many cells does a person have to be made of?

Is a person someone with individual likes, fears, and habits?

Does a person wear fur, or feathers, or scales?

Does a person have to be exactly like you?

What gives some people the right to decide who does and doesn’t feel joy and pain?

What really makes a person?

All of the above, and none of the above.
